Dear Friends,
As I reflect upon this past year, I am immensely grateful to our community for its enduring support of Channel Marker over the past 40 years. Our 40th anniversary has been a time filled with celebrations, accomplishments, and new beginnings. As a leading provider of mental health and wellness support services in the Mid-Shore community, it has been truly gratifying to be part of this incredible journey, implementing and witnessing firsthand the innovation and growth of our services which have helped change so many lives.
Highlights of our priorities for FY22 include:
• Reached the milestone of 40 years of service
• Raised over $183,000 for the Caroline Youth Center
• Consolidated two governing boards
• Completed the construction phase of our Residential Crisis Center
• Offered innovative ways to recruit and retain a qualified workforce
• Focused on community suicide education and prevention
In an effort to serve our clients and community more efficiently, Channel Marker worked towards merging the two governing boards of Channel Marker, Inc. and Channel Marker Foundation, Inc. into one operating unit, served by one board of directors. The board continues to be committed to the mission of Channel Marker and its dedication to serving the behavioral health needs of our community.
We have opened new doors to wellness on the Mid-Shore by expanding our services to add an eight-bed crisis facility named The Bridge at Channel Marker, within our Glebe Park Drive headquarters in Easton. This service addresses an essential need in our Mid-Shore community and will address the needs of individuals who are seeking stabilization through acute, non-emergent crisis support services.
Our accomplishments are not only made possible through the hard work and dedication of our staff and board of directors, but through the continued support, generosity, and kindness of our loyal donors. It is a privilege to serve our community and see the collaborations used to change the trajectory of the lives of the clients we serve. Each one of you is a special part of our Channel Marker family.
Watch us as we embark on the next 40 years. The next year will see a new strategic plan, exciting new projects, a continued focus on our community’s overall well-being, and partnerships on suicide education and prevention, helping us all to take better care of ourselves and each other.
With gratitude,
Cathy Cassell, LCSW-C
